  • What belongs in a crib?

    According to the guidelines for infant safe sleep as established by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2011, a baby is to sleep on its back, on a firm mattress, alone in a crib that is devoid of bumpers, blankets, stuffed toys, etc. Additionally Nook recommends that parents and caregivers routinely examine the crib for any other extraneous or loose items that could present a safety hazard.

  • How do I keep my Pebble ChangePad clean?

    Machine wash cold with mild detergent. Tumble dry. Do not use fabric softener or chlorine bleach. (Pebble Cover only). To clean the core, wipe waterproof fabric with soap and water, DO NOT put core in the washing machine.

  • Does the Pebble Twin Mattress need a box spring?

    A box spring is not needed as long as the mattress is on a flat surface. However, some beds are designed to be used with a box spring, we recommend the use of a platform bed with the Pebble Twin.

  • How is the Pebble Twin Mattress shipped?

    The Pebble Twin is compressed and rolled into a bag and shipped via UPS or FedEx. Once you receive the mattress you should immediately open the package and allow 72 hours for the mattress to return to its original shape.

  • Are all Nook materials organic?

    No. Nook considered the benefits of organic materials versus non-organic materials with higher performance, health and safety benefits. At the end of the day, organic isn't always the best choice. But Nook ensures that any material infants touch is all-natural and the entire Nook product line, from packaging to manufacturing processes, is entirely non-toxic.   • How do I care for Nook products?

    All Nook products are machine washable. We recommend gentle cycle with other soft fabrics only, cold water wash with mild detergent, and tumble dry. Do not use fabric softener or chlorine bleach, which can offset the effectiveness of our nano-coating. Additionally, Nook's patented fabric technologies create wipe-able and microbe resistant surfaces on both the Pebble Mattress and Pebble Wrap.   • Why the pebble pattern?

    The asymmetrical pebble pattern increases air circulation over, around and through the mattress cover. Air travels through the valleys between the Pebbles making a more breathable sleep space for infants. And because no two pebbles are the same, every infant can find a unique and comfortable nook.   • Do Nook Fitted Crib Sheets negate the benefits of the pebbled mattress surface?

    No. On the contrary, Nook Fitted Crib Sheets work in conjunction with the Pebble Mattress to increase airflow and comfort. More air travels through our sheets, over the pebbles beneath and back up to the infant. Plus, infants can still experience the tactile sensation of the pebble pattern through the Fitted Crib Sheets.

  • Can I use non-Nook sheets with Nook Mattresses?

    Yes. Non-Nook sheets will fit Nook Mattresses. However, Nook recommends the use of Nook fitted crib sheets to maximize breathability in the crib. All Nook products are designed to work in concert with one another to create best-in-class breathability, non-toxicity and convenience. Non-Nook sheets could compromise these benefits.

  • My child is allergic to wool/latex. Can he sleep on the Pebble Mattress?

    The Pebble Mattress contains both certified organic wool and natural latex in layers beneath the sleep surface. While neither of these fabrics come in direct contact with infant skin, Nook does not recommend that children with extreme allergies to these products use the Pebble Mattress. Consult your child's pediatrician for more information.

  • How long will my Pebble Mattress last?

    The Pebble Mattress is made from the finest materials and will last a lifetime if cared for properly. We recommend gentle cycle with other soft fabrics only, cold water wash with mild detergent, and tumble dry. Do not use fabric softener or chlorine bleach, which can offset the effectiveness of our nano-coating. Additionally, Nook's patented fabric technologies create wipe-able and microbe resistant surfaces on both the Pebble Mattress and Pebble Wrap. In other words, most small messes can be wiped from the surface for an easy clean. When not in use, place the Pebble Mattress in a mattress bag and store in a dry place.

  • Will Nook products help prevent SIDS?

    The exact cause of SIDS is still unknown and under research. Experts believe SIDS may be related to low-level toxins found in some nurseries but there is no definitive research to support this. In 2008, a medical research study from UC Berkley and Kaiser Permanente indicated that ventilation in a nursery may significantly reduce the occurrences of SIDS by as much as 70%. Because SIDS may be related to accidental asphyxiation, Nook is committed to maximizing natural airflow and breathability throughout the product line.

  • Where is Nook sold?

    Nook is sold at a variety of retailers throughout the United States. Click on the Find Retailers link at the bottom of the home page, where you can sort by state, city, and country.

  • What certifications do Nook materials have?

  • What is Nook's return policy?

    We take great pride in our reputation for quality and excellent value. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with a purchase, we'll assist you with a stress free return as long as it’s within 30 days from purchase and the item is not used and/or damaged. Refunds for items returned within 30 days of the purchase date will be credited in the same form as the original payment type minus a 10% restocking fee. Unless the return is due to a manufacturing defect, the customer shall bare the cost of shipping. These terms are only valid if purchased from Nooksleep.com or via telephone with a Nook Sleep representative.

  • Does sales tax apply to my purchase?

    Nook Sleep Systems is required by law to charge sales tax on orders billed to California State addresses. The amount is calculated and itemized during the online ordering process. No sales tax is applied to orders billed outside of California.

  • Is my connection to the Nook Online Store secure?

    Always. To verify the security of your connection to the server, look at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from http to https during checkout.

  • What are my payment options?

    Nook offers a variety of credit card payment options including, Visa, Master Card, Discover Card and American Express. Cash, check or money order are not valid.

  • What is the Nook Privacy Policy?

    Nook is committed to respecting your privacy and recognizing need for appropriate protection and management of the personally identifiable information you share with us (the phrases "personally identifiable information" or "personal information" means any information by which you can be identified, such as your name, address, telephone number, etc.). The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you of what personally identifiable information or personal information we may collect from you when you visit our Web site, how we use such information, and the choices you have regarding our use of, and your ability to review and correct such information. This policy applies only to users accessing our Web site from the United States. As a part of our commitment to your privacy, Nook Sleep Systems, supports and adheres to the guidelines and practices adopted by the Direct Marketing Association's Privacy Promise to American Consumers. But if you choose not to provide the information we request, you may be unable to purchase products or access certain services, offers, and content on our Web site. Editing, Updating, Correcting, and Deleting Information About You We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you prefer not to receive information from us or from our select partners, please let us know. Please be sure to include your e-mail address, full name, and specifically what information you do not want to receive. If you would like to update or correct your e-mail address, street address, or other personal information with us please contact us the same way. Please note that sometimes these requests may take up to 6-8 weeks to be effective, particularly if we are removing your name from postal mailings.
